Nearing a week without new COVID-19 cases ahead of N.L. daily briefing

In the first days of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Alert Level 4 COVID-19 status there have been no new cases of the virus, with Wednesday’s update set for 2 p.m. NT. 

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald will join Premier Dwight Ball and Health Minister John Haggie for the province’s regular daily briefing on COVID-19. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, the province had five straight days without a new case. The total province’s total caseload is 261, with 247 people recovered and three deaths, leaving 11 active cases. There have been 10,052 people tested. 

On Wednesday morning, the province’s four regional health authorities announced plans to resume some medical procedures following the restriction of services to combat the spread of the virus.
