Family of Capt. Jenn Casey, killed in Snowbird crash, to release statement

The military will be releasing a statement today from the family of Capt. Jenn Casey, who was killed in the Canadian Forces Snowbirds crash on Sunday.

Casey, a Halifax native, was a public affairs officer for the Snowbirds

The family of Capt. Jenn Casey, who was killed in the Canadian Forces Snowbirds crash on Sunday, will be releasing a statement on Wednesday afternoon.

The statement is expected to be read by the military at 2 p.m. AT in Halifax.

Casey grew up in Halifax and worked as a journalist before embarking on a career as a public affairs officer for the Snowbirds. 

The jet she was in crashed shortly after takeoff on Sunday and burst into flames in the front yard of a house in Kamloops, B.C.

The Snowbirds have been on a cross-country tour to raise people’s spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
